The SEPIF 2017 Annual Conference will be held in Chattanooga, Tennessee, February 1-3, 2017.  January 30-31 are set aside for side meetings (e.g., for working groups).  If interested in holding a pre-meeting (i.e., side meeting), please contact Michael Seymour, mseymour@wlf.la.gov

Chattanooga, Tennessee, unparalleled in its variety of recreational and scenic areas including Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls, the Tennessee River and famous Rock City, will be the setting of the 2017 SEPIF Annual Conference. The conference and pre-conference working group meetings will convene at the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel. The world class Tennessee Aquarium, ranked by visitors as one of the best in North America, will feature our reception and posters.

This meeting will bring together scientists, students, policymakers, land managers, and others to share current research and monitoring of eastern birds. Attendees can expect an emphasis on grassland birds, as well as implementation of the new Partners in Flight Landbird Conservation Plan.

Arrive on January 30th to attend a scheduled side meetings; currently, the Eastern Golden Eagle Working Group and Loggerhead Shrike Working Group have requested pre-conference space.

A half-day field trip to Hiawasse WMA to view Sandhill Cranes and other winter birds will occur on February 3rd.
